“Not Normal” — What It Really Means
You’ve probably seen it on the shirt — the word normal crossed out. It’s not just a fashion statement. It’s a message from the Bible at 1 Peter 2:9: “But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.”
The world tells you to blend in… To be normal. To fit the mold.
But Jesus didn’t call us to be normal—He called us to be set apart. When you follow Christ, you don’t live by the world’s patterns anymore. You live with purpose, freedom, and joy that comes from knowing who you really are—chosen, forgiven, and loved beyond measure.
Being “Not Normal” means: Loving when others hate. Giving when others take. Forgiving when others hold grudges. Living with hope when the world feels hopeless. It’s not about perfection. It’s about transformation—what happens when Jesus changes your heart from the inside out.
If you’ve never experienced that kind of life, you can start today. Jesus gave His life on the cross to take your sin, your shame, and everything that keeps you from God.
He rose again so you could walk in His light—free, forgiven, and Not Normal.
You can begin that journey right now by simply saying from your heart: “Jesus, I believe You are the Son of God. You died for my sins and rose again. Forgive me, change me, and make me Yours. Help me live the life You created me for—a life that’s Not Normal. Welcome to the family of the Not Normal—the Chosen Generation. Step out of ordinary. Step into the light.
